The mission of the New Summerfield Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is to promote educational opportunities by providing funding to teachers who are awarded grants. The goal of the Foundation is to enrich the overall educational experience of students in New Summerfield ISD. The Foundation proudly supports the Dolly Parton Imagination Library by providing free books to children up to the age of five living in the New Summerfield School District.
Funds are generated for the Foundation by Kona Ice sales.
Who is eligible for an Education Foundation Grant?
Classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, or academic teams who provide instruction to students of New Summerfield ISD.
Who has to approve the items purchased with grant money?
Classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and academic teams must get approval from their campus principal before submitting the application.
What are some examples of items to be purchased with Education Foundation money?
Projects that fund innovative or creative approaches (materials, activities, programs, etc...) that support the academic goals of the school district.
What happens to items purchased with Education Foundation money if I no longer work for New Summerfield ISD?
All items that are purchased with Education Foundation money are property of New Summerfield ISD and will remain with the district.
How much money will be awarded to each grant winner?
Each year the New Summerfield Education Foundation Board Members will decide the amounts granted based on the amount that is collected. For the 2023-2024 school year, the award amounts are as follows:
Individual - $500
Academic Teams - $750
When is the application due?
For the 2023-2024 school year, all grant applications are due by March 7, 2024.
When will the grants be awarded?
For the 2023-2024 school year, grants will be awarded beginning the week of May 13, 2024.
