Dear New Summerfield ISD Families

The New Summerfield ISD Administration is keeping a close eye on the ongoing incident that occurred yesterday in Jacksonville. We have NO reason to believe that our community or school district is threatened by the situation. Chief Shewmake will maintain constant contact with the Jacksonville Police, the County Sheriff's Department, and the Local Police Department throughout the day. As always, our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. We will provide any updates as needed.

Congratulations to Karem Aguilar and Mauricio Hernandez for receiving an academic honor from @CollegeBoard for the National Merit Recognition Award via @MyBigFuture. Whose aim is to help students pursue college and career success and with this award, our students have a tangible way to stand out to colleges and scholarships. Karem earned the National School Recognition Award and Mauricio earned First-Generation Recognition and National School Recognition Awards. The 2025 National Recognition Program awarded over 280,000 high-performing students to
help them stand out to colleges!

Our District has been rated an “A” (with an overall rating of 94) based on the Texas Education Agency's A-F Accountability Rating System for the 2024-2025 school year. Congratulations to our students and staff on their continued hard work and a job well done.
