Curriculum

All instructional decisions at New Summerfield ISD are made based on the best data available. STAAR, EOC, 9-Week Assessments, daily assessments, and district assessment data are available to teachers and administrators through the availability of DMAC provided through Region 7 Education Service Center.

Teachers practice curriculum management, which is built on the most current research-based practices in the field. Primary focus is to impact instructional practices in the classroom by improving student performance and mastery of the TEKS. New Summerfield I.S.D. teachers have access to TEKS Resource System, which provides research-based content, assessments, year at a glance, pacing guides, etc.

The following links will take you to more information on each of the topics.

TEKS  The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) is the curriculum framework for Texas schools adopted by The State Board of Education. These learning standards and student expectations help ensure that all students are prepared to meet the challenges ahead of them as they move into their workplace and futures beyond New Summerfield I.S.D.

ELPS  The English language proficiency standards outline English language proficiency level descriptors and student expectations for English language learners (ELLs). School districts must implement these standards as an integral part of each subject in the required curriculum.
